I guess today is National running day. I had to make sure I was full filling my duty as a runner by strapping on my running shoes and hitting the wet roads. We have had thunder storms all last night and this morning, and I am not one to run while there is lighting in the distance. But at lunch when my hubby got home, it was only raining, no thunder, so I decided to hit the road for a speedy 5 miler. It doesn't matter if it is 6am or 6 pm, Nellie is always very upset with me if I don't take her. I really didn't want to take her in the rain today, but by the time I got home, my husband said Nellie had just about lost her mind with frustration because she too, wanted to hit the wet roads on National Running day. So this is a little video of me inviting her to go for a run, after I had already run my very wet 5. So please forgive my look, this time it's not just sweat.

Crap. Crap.
Now that I know it is National running day I have to go out! I hav ebeen searching for a good excuse all day to not go. :)
Your video makes me miss my beagle :(
Awww, she looks so excited!!! What a great partner for NRD.
Oh sweet baby! I just love it when they get so excited that they start growling/howling/barking. Hope you both had a great second lap on this day.
Cute dog! I love beagles. :D
I hope you had a fun time on your second time out on the road!
Too cute!
LOL. so cute.
Ha Ha! Hilarious! I have two pitbulls and they are in the office with me as I read your blog. when I played the video they stopped what they were doing and gave a little head tilt toward the computer. They walked over and tried to find the doggie that was barking on the screen. Hilarious! Dogs are so funny.
cindie
what a smart dog, how did Nellie know it was national running day?
i bin watchin ya run...yi gots nise legs!
Nellie is cute!
Hahaha, I love it when they got all worked up when they see the leash! Mine does the same thing, but imagine an 80 pound German shepherd/husky mix bouncing around the house. The really funny thing is that she gets ALL excited, runs about half a mile, and then wants to come home. Silly girl needs to learn how to pace herself.
Haha, my puppy freaks out too to go for a run. As soon as I put on sneakers, she knows!
Too cute! Glad nellie was excited by NRD!
haha, this is too funny. I'm glad Nellie got running on NRD!! :)

Cute dog.
My cat would not have enjoyed it if I had taken her for a run .. LOL.
I had an interesting National Running Day observance. Had to have my car serviced. Dropped it off and ran 9 miles to the office...which meant that later in the day, I had to run 9 miles back. I forgot that there are actually hills in Omaha!
Good job on getting it done...twice and nice job Nellie!
