My twin sister Frances......

Frances~Janice

So I have never in my life gone more then a month or so with out seeing my twin sister Frances. We moved here to Ky in July and I have not seen Franny since then. So we are talking 3 and a half months here folks. That is a long time for us. But for those of you who only know me via the blog world, I will give you a bit of a back ground with the two of us.

Growing up we were completely different from each other. I was wild and outgoing, she was quiet and very shy. As we got older (just after high school) we started to not only get along, but want to hang out with each other. She got married about a year after High school and had a baby pretty quick. I was married about 6 months after Marcus was born. We had our little girls just 6 weeks apart, and they are best friends. They get along so well and they miss each other just as much as Franny and I do. We were in the room when we had our babies and we have been there for each other through out the years. I adore her, and she doesn't even know it.

Well, the reason I have decided to blog about her on my running blog instead of my family blog, is because while she is here, I will actually have someone to run with. I know, Yay for me. She is running a half marathon 4 days after she gets back to Utah. This will be her third and she ran them all this year. I am kind of hoping that maybe next year she will realize that she is capable of running a full. (wink wink)

My feet hurt......UGH

My feet have been hurting. Not really sure why, because I have not pushed my miles or pushed anything for that matter. When I wake up in the morning, the bottoms of both feet hurt. I think it is Plantar Fasciitis. About five minutes of walking and moving around, they feel OK. Later in the day, mostly when I am ready for a relaxing moment and sit to watch a show or go to bed, the tops of my feet ache. I had a stress fracture in my right foot at the beginning of the year and I am certain it just has not healed, even with all the Non-running I did this summer. The problem is, on my left foot, it is starting to hurt on the top where my toes bend. I massaged my feet the other night with some delicious lotion my sister in law had me try from The Body Shop. (smelled so good) As I was massaging that area of my foot, I would get moments of serious sharp pain. What is wrong with me? Why does it seem that when I am ready to get serious about training and my routine, that something decides to break on me? UGH......

What a great quote by an even greater man....

In life, as in business, there has always been a need for those persons who could be called FINISHERS. Their ranks are few, their opportunities many, their contributions great. One day each of us will cross the finish line. Will it likewise be to the cheers and encouragement of those we have loved and served? Hopefully, it will be to the approbation of our savior, who because of our faith and good works, will say, "Well done, though good and faithful servant."

Blisters

I didn't get to much running in over the weekend due to the fact that we were moving. So when I ran my measly 3 miles today, I was a little shocked that my blister spot was bugging me. I thought it was getting better and tougher. I guess I was wrong. I usually run in Mizunos but this last pair of shoes I bought are Asics. Not sure what to think of it all, besides....OUCH!

Hmmmm.....

I am moving this weekend, so before I tear the computer apart and stuff it into a box for who knows how long, I wanted to post something........... Not sure what.. but I will think of something. Hmmmmmmm.......

I guess I will just update you on my workout routine.

I told you before that my friend Wendy and I are following a weight lifting plan from the book "The new Rules of Lifting for Women" and we have finished two weeks (she is one week ahead of me) I really like this plan. I only lift three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. My workout consists of two sets of five different workouts. When you time it and do it just the way the book tells you to, I am done with in about 20 min. I know, nice huh? I can already feel a difference as well. and Wendy said the same thing.

I am still running on the treadmill, which does not bother me to much. I am hoping once we are in the house and the time changes, so it is not so dark when I get up to leave, that I will start pounding the road again. For now I am content and happy with the treadmill. Last week I was sick, I only logged 6 miles. As of tonight I have logged 13 miles. I plan on running 5 tomorrow and then about the same on Saturday.

I have cut out almost all sweets, which is really hard for me. I have a very large sweet tooth. Tomorrow is my little Morgies birthday and we had cake and Ice cream tonight (moving tomorrow) and I had about three bites of my cake and couldn't finish, and I didn't even try the ice cream. I was sick. Really.. I was. I am trying to decide if that is a good thing or bad. (I really know the answer)

One last thing.. My new Running shoes gave me a blister the first couple of times I wore them. My blister is almost gone. yeah!
