Motivation needed......

Thanks to all who gave advice on running with a cold. I guess I already knew it all, just wanted/needed a little support. I am feeling better.

I have been struggling with logging miles since being home from our trip. I can't blame it all on my cold, I have just felt sluggish and lonely. Don't get me wrong, I like being in Ky, it is where we need to be right now and it is really good for my little family to depend on each other. I just miss our families and our friends. So when it comes time to run, I talk myself out of it. Not sure exactly why, you would think the opposite would happen. I didn't run a long run last weekend and I have only logged 6 miles in one week. UGH..... I am beginning to wonder if I will be ready for my Feb marathon. I am scheduled to run 15 this weekend and I am nervous about it. I am going to pray for decent weather and some more then decent Motivation.

I have been lifting weights and I went to spinning yesterday and did and 1 hr 15 min of Yoga this morning. I love spinning, it kicks my butt and Yoga, well I am not flexible at all, so it is very challenging for me. We worked our upper body today in Yoga, so I am certain my arms will be sore tomorrow.

Run Far!

Don't be too hard on yourself - at least you've been active with the other activities.

I hope you get some good weather and rock your 15-miler this weekend!

Get off your lazy butt and go run! There, is that motivation enough? ;) (This coming from me, who hasn't run for...um... a month maybe? Eek!)

I think it is just hard to run this time of year. I have a 12 miler on Saturday and it is going to be snowing...UGH!

Do you use GU or Hammer Gels or something different altogether? I have to tweak something in my routine again...what I have been doing is no longer working for me...UGH again.. ( :

ACtivity is important too. It's not like you are sitting around doing nothing! Don't be so hard on yourself. I feel your pain on winter. Yuck.

Sometimes, you just need a break both mentally and physically. Try and just go for a nice run with no expectations, just run because you can. Have a great weekend.

I can't imagine training for a marathon without a group! I hope you find a running buddy or group soon.

If you feel like the full isn't working out, come on down to Nashville (or near there) for the Feb. 14 Frostbite Half!

I'm still planning on the full CMM with you in April! (Ok, not WITH you as you will be so far ahead of my slow self...)

So glad you stopped by! I really enjoy meeting other runners. And hearing their experiences and suggestions. You should have a beautiful weekend, if it is anything like ours. Good luck on your 15!
