Kids.....

It has been super cold here in my part of Ky, and so I have not run outside for about two weeks. Yesterday was a cool 34, but I thought "The roads are clear and 34 seems warm" So I went out for a 4 mile run. I loved it. It was a bit wet, and I had a few snow flurry's, but all in all it was perfect. I had one dog chase me, and that always pisses me off and makes me run a little faster. Anyways, as I came in the door, my two little girls were sitting at the counter coloring and painting. I was standing there stretching when I heard my 3 year old say with a very disgusted tone, "What is that smell?" I just looked at her for a minute, and realized she was talking about me. I told her she was smelling the cold off of me. She looked at me with wide eyes and said, "No mom, it's sweat and you stink"

That happened to me on Saturday too after my run except it was my hubby telling me that I stunk :) Feeling the love from him!!

LOL! I bet she's your modest one, huh! hehehe

That's cute! But I'm sure it was the good kind of stink.

They're definitely not subtle, are they? I get the same thing all the time :)

I love the honesty of kids...

I'm actually starting to enjoy cold weather running, as long as it's not too cold....

I got chased by dogs over the weekend too...can't believe people let their dogs run free like that...

Aren't little people so fantastic?? My 6 year old wrote a school report on our experience at Disney and at one part it said "my Mommy ran a marathon and she was REALLY tired." That was his only reference to me and the rest was all about Mickey Mouse! :)

glad you loved being outside, and can't believe your 3 year old said that! Too funny! :)

Haha! Kids tell it to you straight, don't they?

Glad you were able to get some fresh air!

Can't do anything but love the little farts, huh??

So funny! That just means you got a really good workout. ;) It reminds me of the time Brandon was silly enough to kiss my neck after I went running... and gagged. Hey, I'm gonna be salty, deal with it! ;)

Kids are always so blunt! Sounds like something that would come out of my daughters mouth!

Sonia & The happy runner.... I use to live in a part of Utah where for two months of the winter our high was -1. 34 really does sound warm to me. I have found that the cold in Ky is so much colder then the cold in Utah. I am amazed how much the humidity makes it feel so much hotter/colder. UGH

Don't you love 'em?

That sweet honesty of little ones--gotta love it. I'm sure she meant it in the nicest possible way.

I've never experienced the dry cold of Utah or Colorado, but I do know what you mean about 30 degrees feeling quite cold here! Our 90-degree days in August are definitely miserable, too.

Kids say the darnedest things, don't they? Have you ever seen the LDS movie "The Mouths of Babes" where they ask little kids stuff about church and where they came from, and what they want to be when they grow up? Oh my gosh- too funny!!

And I know what you mean about the humid cold being so much worse. Dry cold is much more tolerable.
