I really want to be one of those bloggers that can write something and post it every day. I struggle with blogging about what does get posted. I have a family blog, and it's a cinch. I blog about my two beautiful little girls, and the adventures of our family. Easy.
I love running. I love so much about it. I love other runners, and the fact that they get it when you tell them you had to Vaseline up before your long run. (since my first marathon in 2002, I have had to do this) Fellow runners, don't think you are disgusting when you talk about "Runners poo". (you know we all get it) Other runners, understand how it feels when you skip a run, or have an injury. (we feel like screaming) Another runner, even if you have never met in person, gets so happy and excited for you to have purchased a pair of running shoes that cost $120, or a new top that fit's great and doesn't rub wrong. (I loves me a new running outfit) Other runners, don't flinch when you tell them the race cost $80, and they don't say, "You have to pay to run? Are you crazy?"
So even though I may not blog everyday, or even have the best topic, or write like I am an English major, I know you don't care, as long as it is about running. I love all the advice we have for each other. Since moving to Ky, I have been running alone. I guess in Utah, I ran most of the time alone, but occasionally I would find someone to run with me. Here in Ky, I don't really even know another person who runs. (not in my little town) So for lonely ole me, my blogging friends are my running partners.
RUN FAR!

I love your honesty :) It is quite refreshing. I may not be as hard core as you are but I get it. I loves me a new running outfit too :P
Great post. I can relate. I sometimes struggle to find something to write about, and wonder 'Why would anyone even want to read this drivel?' And yet people do, and they leave comments and make me feel like a million bucks.
You are never running alone!!
Have a great weekend!
I know how you feel, I think that all the time! But I also scrounge around reading about other runners running... because I love it! I love the stories - success and fails, because I can also share mine and relate. No one else around me runs either, so I love venting on this and have people who totally get where I'm coming from :)
Keep it goin' girl!
I love running most of the time too. I love you also. And I love that you write whats on your mind and like you said if you run you "get it".
Aw, good post! And so true. Sometimes I think my blog just sucks and who the heck would want to read it b/c I have nothing interesting to say. But we all love running and that is why we stick with it!
I love reading about running almost as much as I love running itself. And I love how other runners get all those things and don't think you're disgusting. I said something about losing my toenails after my 1/2, and my family thought I was disgusting.
ya, it's tough to come up with stuff at times, but as Marlene said, writing on your blog, you're never alone. I love reading about everyone else's adventures and experiences, as I know that there are many I'll never encounter myself. Have a great weekend!
Great post! And yep - I do most of my running alone, talking to you people in my head ;-)
And the encouragement is like no other...
Great Post! It is so exciting reading on other runners successes. As a new runner, it is fun to read about the good and the bad in those who have been doing it a while, it gives us hope ;) Keep on blogging girl!
I liked your running post. The world of running is amazing to me. I had to laugh about the paying to run. I constantly get that one. Since I like the ultras, I also constantly get asked if I go to the bathroom during a 50 mile juant. Running changed my life. I lost 130 lbs, finished 7 marathons and 4 ultras, and kept the weight off all in 2 years time. I look forward to 2009 also.
Also, it may seem weird, but use vics vapor rub instead of "glide" or vaseline. It works absolute wonders. I have never had a problem chafing when I used it and if I do get chafed, putting it on cures the problem overnight.
Great post

I can totally relate! Some days, the words flow. Some days...not so much.
Like others have said, I just like to read about running and other people's exploits almost as much as I love to run.
I run alone and definitely consider my RBFs my running partners!
Glad I found your blog. And thanks for stopping by mine. My wife makes fun of me, because I will buy new running cloths, and never even look at everyday cloths.
I love your blog!! I love reading about other runners' adventures and successes. I love your honesty and the way you just say it how it is. Have a great weekend. Good luck with the feet!
Such a true post, I love reading everything running. You are never alone in running blogland.
Great post!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I LOVE meeting new runners this way. I am not sure if I would be as excited about my running if I didn't have this outlet to whine, vent, cheer, brag and ramble. My friends and family are starting to tune me out, I think.
I am sorry you haven't found any running partners where you are. I became close friends with some women after training for the marathon together. We talked about a lot of stuff during three hour runs. Feel free to have conversations with us! ;-)
It is amazing the support you can get from the running community, even if they do not know you.
I talk about running all the time and people act like they care, but I can tell that most of them do not.
Hi! I saw your comment on D10's blog about running in Utah, so I hopped on over. I currently live in UT, and I'm running a half in St. George this weekend.
But anyway, I love this post about runners. My husband and family (and people I work with) don't really "get" my running, so it definitely helps to have blogging friends.
One idea if you want to find people to run with is see if there is a running club in your area. I just joined one, and they do runs together every Saturday, and there's no pressure to join up or not- whatever fits your schedule.
Anyway, I will definitely be reading more of your blog- good luck!!
I just found your blog today, and it looks great! Don't worry too much about what to write or how much to write - blogging is supposed to be fun, right? Do whatever you feel like - it all seems pretty cool to me.
