I have decided to send back the Mizunos I just recently bought. I ran in them twice and the first time was good, the second time was not so good. I got a huge blister and I just knew these shoes were NOT going to work for me. So last night while on my hot date with the hubby (not really hot, but nice to be out and away from the kids) I went and picked up the Asics Kayano 15. I did something that I have never done and something that I shouldn't admit, but I will. I ran in them today for my 17 miles. I know, naughty. BUT....just listen to me..... I was in heaven. Really I was. I had one tiny little spot that rubbed raw but that was it. YAY... I have happy feet!
The other night we went to the UK ladies basketball game. My daughter was being recognized for her perfect attendance since the first of Jan. She was able to go down to the court at half time with a few other kids and have her name called and meet the mascot (wildcat). I just wanted to share this picture of my little cuties. This picture shows how different their personalities are. The 8 year old (almost) is shy and very timid, and my 3 year old is a crazy, outspoken wild child. I just adore them both.

awesome job on the run...we had a very cold and strong wind here today too...spring can't get here quick enough for me....I have heard great things about the Kayanos, hope they work out better
Good deal on the shoes. You know, I used to run in Mizunos a looong time ago and they were great but they changed too much over time and my feet won't tolerate them any more either. Oh, you get a gold star for going and finishing your run rather than calling it a day!!!
17 miles no matter how you got them is just awesome!! I am impressed :)
Nice job on the 17 miles. I would hardly call the wimping out!!
Your kiddos are adorable! I love that photo.
Hey, getting the 17 miles in is all that matters!! I had to face the wind on my way back today, too and it sucked!
good for you for getting on the treadmill, I might/would have quit after I got home. sorry you have a blister
I actually took some Mizunos back once too! My feet were killing me, even though they felt comfortable before I ran in them.
YAY for you, running 17 miles! You ROCK!
great job on the 17! Yay for new shoes! Hope they keep working well! :)
I think treadmill miles are WAY harder than street miles! We frequently joke that treadmill miles count double! Way to go. And I have had Kayano's in the past and I love them!
This past Jan first I went for my first "double digit" run of 10 miles and 8 miles into it I had to call the hubby and pick me up due to strong cold winds on the way back-finished at home on the treadmill-NO shame what so ever!! NIce run-can't wait until I get that many miles in at once!
Great job on your 17! Hopefully I'll see that sometime in March.
Glad you like your new shoes. That counts for so much in running.
Janice, don't sell yourself short. Anyone who's run 17 straight (or any equivalent distance) vs. running it in two phases the same day knows that what you did was far more physically challenging. Head up and facing down the road - 99.9% of the population couldn't (or wouldn't) do the first 14, not to mention 14+4.
Nice job on the 17. You got all the miles in, that's what counts.
Cute picture of your girls!
Good job on the 17!! You just finished your marathon right?! Awesome!
Great job on the 17! No wimping there.
Hope the new kicks continue to treat you well :)
shoot you made it through 17 it counts!!
she go to go on the court, I bet she thinks she's a star!
Weather wimp or not you got it done =)
shoes can be really disappointing, I'm still trying to find 'THE PAIR' that will fit me like a glove sigh.
great job on the 17!!! no matter what, 17 miles is awesome :)
Nice job on the 17-miler (treadmill is not wimping out) and glad to hear the new shoes worked out!
Good job on the run. If hubby had picked me up I would have been done!!
Used to love Asics until I switched to New Balance.
Ugh I hate it when you're feeling strong at the halfway mark only to turn around and face the wind! We've all been there. Great job completing the 17 anyway.
PS: your kids are so cute.
Such cute pics!
Congrats on the new shoes. And 17 miles is 17 miles, no matter how or where they are run. Great job!
Seems like no matter what new shoes I try, I always come back to Asics. And you reminded me it's time for a new pair!
Glad u got ur shoes figured out, I like asics but still haven't found that perfect shoe :-(
and running in the cold wind doesn't sound to fun but suck it next time okay --haha
